About AFR

Aberdeen Frontrunners is one of Scotland's fastest growing inclusive running clubs which welcomes all sections of the community, with an emphasis on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender + (LGBT+) communities and their allies. As a club, we aim to:

  • To promote health and wellbeing through running among lesbian, gay male, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)+ adults, regardless of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or physical ability
  • To provide coaching for the members and to organise competitions and social activities.
  • To combat discrimination and homophobia in sport, and to encourage LGBT involvement in the sporting and local community
  • In pursuit of these aims the Club promotes equal opportunities and encourages gender parity

We actively encourage and welcome new members, no matter what level you are at, be it run-a-bit-walk-a-bit, jogging, running, racing or even training for your umpteenth marathon, we genuinely have people at all abilities, so you’ll easily find someone to help you move to that next goal!

We also take part in many races throughout the year, from Saturday Park runs, local 10K's, right through to marathons.
